Apply for a Mentor
Our Mentorship Program is aimed at academics - from undergraduates, to graduates and PhD holders - aiming to support you in your career and bring you closer to the Swedish job market.
We pair you with a mentor who has similar work experience, education, and/or interests as you. The mentoring program goes for one year, including a summer break. During the program, you and your mentor will meet approximately every four-five weeks for an hour, and you get to decide on the time and location that suits you both for your meetings. Upon completion of the mentoring year, you and your mentor will be contacted to update us and provide the always useful feedback.
You gain a sounding board and an engaged conversational partner, who can become a valuable reference and door-opener to the job market, often with a strong network in Gothenburg. Just remember, for a successful mentorship experience, it’s important to keep realistic expectations. Confidentiality and trust are crucial prerequisites!
The mentorship program is entirely cost-free for you, and all mentors volunteer their time. Participation in our mentorship program does not guarantee a job, but you gain a new network and numerous new opportunities!
For the best results in your mentorship program, we recommend meeting with your mentor for about an hour every five weeks. We have a suggestion for structuring your meetings with your mentor to make the most out of them. After completing the mentorship program, Open House awards a diploma to you as a mentee.
Are you prepared to unleash your potential and embark on a transformative journey of growth? Apply for a mentor now!
